Environmental impacts of tea addictions/coffee cravings

tea bag and cupIn our family, we spend far too much time talking about, making and drinking tea. We love the stuff, and coffee is also up there as a favourite beverage. We have, it would seem, worn out our relatively new kettle, as a result of our addiction. For my husbands birthday we bought him a tea handbook, which provides everything you need to know about growing, processing, making and tasting tea. So now I know a bit more about tea it was time to find out the effect that tea and coffee has on the environment and local communities.

Since Greenpeace’s Canned Tuna Guide was launched nearly every brand can tell you where and how their tuna is caught. Tinned tuna has also been included in the recently launched sustainable seafood guide iPhone app.
